History

It started very early.... The passion for engines of all kinds... Hans Schnellmann completed his apprenticeship as a car mechanic with great pleasure. With experience, further training and his supportive wife Irma Schnellmann-Schildknecht, Hans moved from St. Gallen to Emmental in 1971. At the age of 30, Hans and Irma set up their own business in Griesbach, Sumiswald. The customer base grew quickly, also the vehicles became bigger and bigger... Commercial vehicles had to be repaired on site due to lack of space. Soon Irma and Hans were faced with the decision - build or give up!!! At the current location, they opened the doors of the newly built garage in Sumiswald on May 1, 1980, with 3 employees.

Hans and his team specialized more and more in heavy motor vehicles. Over the years, the former Datsun/Nissan agency was replaced by the IVECO service center. During the construction of the railroad in 2000, Garage H.Schnellmann had 6 trucks in service. Until 2007, 1 truck was still available for the transport business. The transformation to Schnellmann GmbH took place in 1997. Schnellmann GmbH has been managed in the 2nd generation since January 2006. Roland Schnellmann and his team have first-class specialist knowledge. This is constantly kept up to date through courses. Through the expansion of the existing garage, a modern test lane for cars and commercial vehicles was built in 2009. Since 13.05.2013 member of the CarXpert concept.
