Auto Schmid AG (Unterentfelden)

Garage Schmid was founded in 1948 with three workplaces in Rohr near Aarau by Werner Schmid. The English brand Austin, still intact after the Second World War, became Auto Schmid's first automobile agency. In 1972 the two sons, Werner and Ruedi, took over the management. The company, now Auto Schmid AG, with Mercedes-Benz and Toyota agencies, developed steadily. In 1980, the company moved into the new garage building in Unterentfelden. Mercedes-Benz and Toyota moved to Unterentfelden. Ruedi Schmid took over the management. Werner Schmid continued the Rohr business with the new Peugeot dealership. In 1989, an extension was built in Unterentfelden with a two-story showroom building. In 2005, a van workshop was added and in the same year a new used car center. The Rohr business was sold in 2014. The largest investment in the company's history was made in Unterentfelden in 2017: It included the purchase of a plot of land and the construction of a new tire warehouse for 6,000 wheels as well as a new van workshop. Eight new jobs were created in the process.

Today, Auto Schmid AG Unterentfelden represents the Mercedes-Benz Group brands Mercedes-Benz passenger cars, vans, Marco Polo and Smart. Auto Schmid AG employs sixty people.
