Tradition since 1986 In 1986 the Auwiesen Garage at Auwiesenstrasse 53 in Winterthur was founded and established by the Klaiber family. Until August 2015, the OPEL dealership in Winterthur operated under this name. Since then, the former owners enjoy their well-deserved retirement.

Michael Zehnder took over the Auwiesen Garage in September 2015 and integrated the business into Garage Markwalder AG, based in Tagelswangen. With Garage Markwalder, as the official OPEL sales and service representative, synergies could be used and the catchment area could be enlarged.

Due to restructuring at the importer and the associated high requirements by OPEL, the owner decided to give up the official service representation. The forced investments were out of proportion to (no) added value for customers and garage. However, all services for OPEL vehicles are still covered/provided.

Nothing changes for OPEL customers. In fact, the opposite is true, as maintenance and repairs for all car brands can be performed. The long-time employees guarantee a high quality of work with a lot of experience. From an operational point of view, the two businesses are now separate - Garage Zehnder GmbH in Winterthur was founded in January 2019 and appears in a new guise.
