Grenzgarage MIWAG AG (St. Margrethen SG)

On January 1, 1977, Rolf Zehender and Jrène Appenzeller took over the border garage with gas station from their predecessor Ruedi Zeller, who had built and moved into a new garage, as OPEL local dealer from Sepp Frei, Widnau.

Business started very well with the then popular OPEL vehicles Rekord and Commodore.

In 1980, Grenzgarage took over the official commercial vehicle agency with BEDFORD and started rental car operations with a passenger bus.

In all these years, Rolf Zehender received several awards from OPEL for his sales performance, which confirmed to him again and again that he was on the right track with his business policy.

In 1985 the representation of commercial vehicles with ISUZU replaced that of Bedford. In 2002, the representation of PIAGGIO small utility vehicles was added, which are used as small, practical power packs especially by municipal building authorities. In 2008, Grenzgarage took over the official representation of the Japanese brand SUBARU and was thus able to gain new customers in addition to the loyal OPEL clientele.

These developments required more space and room in every area. The Grenzgarage obtained this with the purchase of two properties in the 80's and 90's: one houses the body shop and the tire house and the other serves as a parking lot for the rental buses of MIWAG car rental and for the storage of customer tires and special tools.

For Grenzgarage MIWAG AG, spring 2013 will go down in its history as the landmark of a long, successful business development. The various expansions and especially the new building allow for a speedy, professional customer service for car-related questions.

The history of Grenzgarage MIWAG AG
