Riedweg AG (Birmensdorf ZH)

The current owner of the company, Pius Riedweg, successfully completed an apprenticeship as a coachbuilder in 1981 at the then leading company for coach bodies for buses, Gebrüder Tüscher AG in Zurich. Afterwards he deepened his skills in this profession.

In 1985, he took over the one-man business Müller at Grubenstrasse 9 in Urdorf and successfully continued the car body store. After eight years, he fulfilled his dream of having his own workshop building at Grubenstrasse 7 in Urdorf.

About nine years later, Pius Riedweg took on a new challenge and took over the company HR Weidmann AG at Bergermoosstrasse 10 in Urdorf. The building was extended with an annex. In the same year, HR Weidmann AG was renamed Riedweg AG. The workforce consisted of twelve employees including apprentices in the professions of carrossier tinsmith and carrosserie paintshop.

After another seven years, Riedweg AG became a contractual partner of Rhino Linings Schweiz AG. Rhino Linings is the world leader in sprayed-on polyurethane coatings. In addition, we have been a contractual partner of Selzam AG since February 15, 2012.

Thanks to the good order situation, the workplace at Bergermoosstrasse 10 in Urdorf was no longer sufficient. The company headquarters of Riedweg AG was moved to Hans Stutzstrasse 1 in Birmensdorf in November 2012. Today, we can benefit from a larger workshop and a new stoving and spray booth.
